Walterdale Theatre is pleased to announce that John Richardson’s Guenevere and Tessa Simpson’s Portrait of a Family Dinner have been selected for this season’s From Cradle to Stage New Work Festival. John will be working with dramaturg Brian Dooley and associate dramaturg Payam Saeedi Varnousfaderani for the development process, while Tessa will be working with dramaturg Tracy Carroll and associate dramaturg Caitlin Hart.
Walterdale Theatre’s From Cradle to Stage New Play Festival is currently looking for actors to help workshop Guenevere by John Richardson and Portrait of a Family Dinner by Tessa Simpson for the dramaturgical development process. The actors would need to be available for a day or two in early to mid- December/ early to mid-January.
As well, Walterdale members who are curious to learn more about dramaturgy are invited to attend a development meeting facilitated by either professional dramaturgs–Brian Dooley or Tracy Carroll. The discussions between the respective playwright and dramaturgy team will allow the Walterdale member to gain insight into the inner workings of the discipline.
