Letter from the Artistic Director
In the 59th Season at the Walterdale Theatre, you will experience theatre that inspires you and entertains you. This season we are dedicating our selections to creating space and opportunity. Each show selected will regale you with characters that overcome personal and societal pressures and obstacles.
Our talented creative teams will bring you five productions. In May, our annual From Cradle to Stage Festival will inspire you with new works by local playwrights.
We kick off the season with the classic piece, A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen followed by Trina Davies’ Canadian piece, Shatter, in December. This production marks the centennial commemoration of the maritime disaster. In February we will illuminate the stage with Clare Boothe Luce’s The Women. Jessica Swale’s Blue Stockings is up in April, and we will conclude our season in July with the musical sensation Next to Normal by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt.
Please join me in creating opportunity and building the Walterdale community this season.
