What is your background in theatre? At Walterdale? I’ve been studying acting at the Citadel’s Foote Theatre School ever since returning from teaching abroad in Japan (everyone go see Takarazuka Revue!). This is actually my first show at Walterdale. I’m stoked!
What brought you to Walterdale? Walterdale always seemed like (and certainly turned out to be) a great place for actors to gain skills under the tutelage of amazing directors and cast members. This was also a chance to see the development of a brand new play first-hand.
What do you think audiences will take away from this production? I think, above all, the positivity of the play is what will linger the most; the reminder that both hope and peace can be found even after such struggle is so important.
The Sunset Syndrome by Alison Neuman is presented as part of From Cradle to Stage 2016. Walterdale is committed to the development and production of new works by Edmonton-area Playwrights. From Cradle to Stage 2016 runs from May 16-21 at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Tix on the Square or at the door.
