Meet the Team of Boeing Boeing – Rachel Whipple is Props Master

  1. Rachel Whipple.BoeingWho are you? Rachel Whipple
  2. What is your role on this production? Props
  3. What is your background in theatre? At Walterdale? I started getting involved with theatre in high school, but my back stage experience started at Concordia University of Edmonton. Harvey was the first show that I worked on props and special effects. I also like to direct, sing, an perform improv. This summer I directed my Fringe show called Pacific Time and it was an excellent experience. This is my first production at the Walterdale.
  4. Why did you come out for this show? I loved the script and all of the hilarious stressful situations the characters run into. I have worked with Lauren in the past and it is always a pleasure. I jumped at the chance to work at the Walterdale because I always enjoy the shows I see there.
  5. Why do you think people should come see this show? People should see the show for a good laugh and to see the gorgeous set, costumes, and props that have been created for this play. Also, the play is a great reminder that, even when it comes to your love life, we should pick quality over quantity!
  6. This play’s plot is complicated by airline layovers.  Got any funny/sad/frustrating layover stories? Once my family and I traveled to the Philippines and we had a 12 hour layover in Taipei, Taiwan. The airport there was HUGE! We spent most of the time wondering around and getting lost. The only food store we could find only accepted cash. So we spent a good part of that layover trying to exchange money and getting lost in translation, We were eventually successful and I remember eating these strange purple taro cakes. It was quite the adventure.
