Meet the Cast of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum – Erin Vandermolen-Pater is Vibrata

me and ukeWhat is your role in this Production? I am playing Vibrata–the wild and vibrant courtesan. It entails much shimmying and “ay-ah’s!”
What is your background in theatre? At Walterdale? My very first solo line was in kindergarten–“What angel awakes me from my flowery bed?” …I got it because I was the loudest and least shy person in the class. My love for theatre, music, and the arts in general has really just grown stronger as I’ve gotten older; taking me to Victoria School of the Arts for grade 2 through grade 12, and then to the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC. Now, back in Edmonton, I’m excited for this to be my very first production at Walterdale!
What brought you out for this production? Edmonton has a great theatre community, and I was really just aching to be a part of it. This show seemed to be a good fit for me, and I’ve gotten to work with some great people here.
Why do you think audiences should come and see this show? This show is great because it’s got so many classical theatrical and comedic elements, and yet–as you can guess, with Sondheim–it’s told in a different sort of way.
